Wait to carve: Whole pumpkins last weeks, but carved ones only a few days.
Pick wisely: Choose pumpkins with firm skin, no soft spots, and a sturdy stem.
Keep them dry: Moisture speeds up rotting, so wipe them down if they get wet.
Spray inside: After carving, mist the inside with vinegar and water (or diluted bleach) to slow mold.
